The Ondo State Government has officially announced the return of the renowned Mare Festival in Idanre, which had been on hold for several years. The highly anticipated cultural and tourism celebration will make its grand comeback in December 2025, reigniting one of the state’s most vibrant showcases of tradition, heritage, and community spirit.Hon. Afolabi Adesoji, the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, revealed that the revival aligns with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s agenda to make tourism a driver of economic growth, job creation, and cultural rebirth across Ondo State. He emphasized that this year’s edition will not only celebrate the rich heritage of Idanre but also spotlight the iconic Idanre Hills as a prime tourism destination capable of attracting both local and international visitors.
